This piece is inspired by the duʿāʾ of Yunus (peace be upon him), a supplication recited in moments of hardship, reflection, and return. The ocean imagery reflects themes of struggle, surrender, and divine mercy, echoing the meaning of the prayer and its enduring relevance.
This original artwork is created on a circular canvas with a 20 cm diameter. Textured mediums are used to build a wave and shoreline effect, with a sandy, rough surface representing the beach and modelling paste forming layered ocean-blue waves. Hand-painted Arabic calligraphy of the supplication of Yunus (peace be upon him) is applied in gold acrylic, sitting gently over the textured surface. The contrast between movement, texture, and script gives the piece a quiet depth while remaining visually balanced.
